State police at the Lehighton barracks reported on the following traffic incidents.
• A traffic stop made at 9:35 p.m. Jan. 15 in the area of Route 534 and Stony Ridge Drive in Polk Township resulted in the driver being arrested for driving under the influence of drugs. Police said the 19-year-old man from East Stroudsburg was taken for a blood test after police determined he appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
• A 17-year-old boy from Lehighton escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 7:15 a.m. Jan. 15 on Mahoning Mountain Road in East Penn Township. Police said he was operating a 1999 Ford Explorer northbound when he became distracted by his clothing and belongings that were sliding off the passenger seat. When he reached for the items, the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole. Police said the vehicle sustained disabling damages.
• A 15-year-old girl from Kunkletown who was a passenger in a vehicle that was involved in a crash at 6:01 p.m. Jan. 16 on Meixsell Valley Road in Ross Township sustained suspected minor injuries. The girl was a passenger in a 2000 Ram 2500 truck operated by a 17-year-old boy from Kunkletown. Police said she refused medical treatment. The vehicle was westbound when it began to slide on the snow-covered highway and traveled off the road crashing into a garage/storage building. The vehicle sustained disabling damages. The driver was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.
• Stephen R. Zazulak, 18, of Kunkletown, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 3:14 p.m. Jan. 8 on Interchange Road (Route 209) in Franklin Township. Police said he was driving a 2003 Saturn L200 too fast for conditions when he lost control of the vehicle. It left the roadway and struck an embankment, then continued southbound sideways before rolling onto its roof. Police said he was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured.
