State police at Lehighton are investigating a theft that happened at 7:04 p.m. Jan. 27 at the West End Car Wash, 1176 Interchange Road, Gilbert.
Police said after the incident was reported to them by an employee of the business, they reviewed video surveillance and determined a white man walked to the location from Mill Pond Road and broke into bay No. 5’s change container. The suspect left the scene headed north on Route 209 toward Brodheadsville. He was wearing a dark gray hoodie and black pants and left the scene with the change in an orange bag.
Police said the video shows a second suspect drove up to the scene around 7:30 p.m. and washed a woman’s vehicle in bay No. 2. The suspect then drove the white Chevrolet Colorado into bay No. 5, washed his vehicle and then picked up the leftover change on the ground. The man then reopened the change container and emptied it into his vehicle.
Police said the second suspect was wearing a dark gray hoodie and blue jeans.
