A Connecticut truck driver escaped injury when his rig crashed on Friday along a Schuylkill County roadway.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said Michael C. Lawson, 36, of Waterbury, was driving a 2017 Volvo truck tractor northbound on Route 61 in North Manheim Township at 4:05 p.m. when he was unable to stop for a steady red light due to wet road conditions.
The rig traveled onto the east berm where it struck a metal traffic signal post with the right front end, just north of the intersection with Route 183.
