A Coaldale man was picked up on an outstanding warrant by Coaldale police on Jan. 13 and ended up with additional criminal charges.
Police went to an address on Fisher Avenue at 9:40 p.m. to look for William David Lee, 42, who also goes by the nickname “Southern Dave.” Lee’s address of record is 2 Bull Run St., Coaldale.
The Fisher Avenue homeowner allowed police into her home and agreed to a search of the premises. Lee was on a stairway when officers arrived. He was told about an active warrant for his arrest and taken into custody.
A search turned up a bag of suspected marijuana in his right front pocket. In his jacket there was an unlabeled pill bottle containing five yellow pills. Officers also found a three pipes and two grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine.
Lee was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The warrant was for a driving with a suspended license violation from 2016. He pleaded guilty in that case and was fined.
He was released on his own recognizance on the drug charges.
