A wheelchair left in the lane of travel on Fireline Road in Bowmanstown was struck by a vehicle moments after the occupant of the chair had exited it.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said the incident happened at 9:48 p.m. July 3.

Police said a vehicle traveling west struck the empty chair belonging to the property owner in the 700 block of Fireline Road after the owner exited it and was on the front porch.

Police said the vehicle failed to stop at the scene.
