An employee of the Pocono International Raceway at Long Pond has been charged with theft and disorderly conduct.
Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers were called to the raceway on Sunday during the NASCAR race. Security officers said they had detained an employee who was working at the tunnel turn entrance who was letting people in without proper passes and charging them $10 cash and keeping the money.
The employee, identified as Maurice A. Whitaker, 28, of Plymouth, Luzerne County, was interviewed and then placed under arrest. He was transported to the Monroe County booking center and later released.
