A Schuylkill County driver was cited following a two-vehicle crash that occurred about 2:54 p.m. on Sunday along Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Megan J. Moyer, 18, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2003 Pontiac Bonneville eastbound in the left lane while Jeffrey A. Rhoades, 38, of Allentown, was eastbound in the right lane driving a 2016 Triumph Thruxton motorcycle. Moyer attempted to merge into the right lane and struck Rhoades’ car on the front end.

Rhoades was thrown from his cycle and landed in the right lane. The bike continued east and came to final rest in a grassy area along the south shoulder.

Rhoades was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, by Cetronia ambulance. Moyer was not injured. The cycle had to be towed.

Moyer was cited for the crash and not wearing her seat belt.
