State police at the Stroudsburg barracks reported on the following incidents:

• A 37-year-old East Stroudsburg woman was the victim of an assault that happened at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 3 along Independence Road in Smithfield Township. State police said the woman was forcibly grabbed and shoved.

• A 20-year-old Tobyhanna woman was assaulted and her cellphone was stolen in an incident at 3:29 p.m. Sept. 7 along Pipeline Lane in Smithfield Township. State police said a suspect shook the victim by the arms, struck her in the face with an open hand and stole her phone.
