A theft by deception case is being investigated by state police at the Lehighton barracks.

The victim is a 74-year-old Kunkletown woman who reported at 8:13 p.m. Oct. 4 that she willingly sent $4,000 to an unidentified actor for services that were never provided.

The woman lives on Eldo Lake Drive in Polk Township.
