Carbon County Planning Commission

The Carbon County Planning Commission reviewed the following proposed land developments or subdivisions during its monthly meeting last week.

• Indian Hill Property’s proposed land development/lot combination was reviewed but no recommendation was made. The plan calls for combining two tax parcels into one 1.21-acre lot at 47 Indian Hill Road in Franklin Township and then converting an existing property from a mixed use of retail and multi-family residences to a business office and medical equipment. The planning commission’s comments will be forwarded to Franklin Township for inclusion in further discussion on the project.

• Robert S. Boucher and Linda Descano received plan approval for a proposed lot combination plan at 83 Susquehanna Drive, Pleasant Valley West, Penn Forest Township. The plan calls for combining three parcels into one new 3.0203-acre lot.

• David H. and Bobbie Jo Kleppinger received conditional plan approval for a proposed minor subdivision at the intersection of Wintergreen Road and Hill Road in Towamensing Township. The 40.5135-acre lot, which is zoned rural conservation and spans both into Towamensing and Lower Towamensing townships, will be subdivided into a 4.4610-acre lot and a 36.0542-acre lot.

• Samuel W. Gullone’s proposed land development was reviewed but no recommendation was made. He proposes the construction of a 5,200-square-foot multipurpose building on Route 903 in Penn Forest Township. The planning commission’s comments will be forwarded to Penn Forest Township for inclusion in further discussion on the project.

• Jeffrey Sernak received plan approval for a proposed minor subdivision/lot consolidation at the intersection of Quakake Road and Center Lane, Packer Township. It calls for combining two lots into one 22.2-acre lot.

• Theresa S. Nace, executor of the Hallahan Estate, received plan approval for a proposed subdivision at 191 Laurytown Road, Lehigh Township. The plans call for creating three lots and one de facto lot due to Laurytown Road traversing the parcel.
