Mahoning Township Supervisors

Mahoning Township supervisors took the following action recently:

• Approved a request from Remmey Pallet, 543 Mill Road, waiving the need for formal land development planning with conditions of obtaining zoning and building permit; performing maintenance on the existing stormwater facility; and obtaining review by fire chief relative to building separation and access/circulation around the facility where the new features are proposed.

• Approved a request from Mahoning Manor Estates, 125 Manor Lane, waiving the need for formal land development planning with conditions of obtaining zoning and building permit.

• Agreed to donate the DUI trailer that belonged to the township police department to the Carbon County DUI Task Force.

• Granted conditional approval to the Sabol minor subdivision plan.

• On a 4-0 vote with one abstention, appointed Yvonne Reeser as chairperson to the vacancy board; Supervisor Ron Reeser abstained from the vote because she is his wife.

• Approved a quote in the amount of $2,397 from Enter.net for a website design package.

• Agreed to advertise to receive bids for roof replacement and dehumidification system.

• Agreed to spend $512 a year for the generator maintenance proposal for the township’s municipal building.

• Approved a tax refund to Angela Iwasiuk at 1061 Fredericks Grove Road for 2019-24 real estate taxes.

• Agreed to roll over the township’s building and land CD for another three months.

• Scheduled an electronic recycling event from 3-5 p.m. May 2 at the township’s Public Works building. The event is for township residents only.

• Awarded contracts for road materials to Lehigh Asphalt.

• Awarded contracts for fuels and propane to Suburban Propane.
