State police at Lehighton

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:

• Bernard Wayne, 78, of Lehighton, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon following an incident at 8:54 p.m. April 7 on Pohopoco Drive, Towamensing Township.

Police said they were called to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township, where personnel reported a 52-year-old man from Lehighton had arrived there with a gunshot wound of the foot. They said they investigation determined Wayne shot the man in the right foot.

• Police were called to a bank on Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East, Mahoning Township, at 2:35 p.m. March 28 to investigate a theft by deception incident.

Police said someone attempted to acquire a bank statement of a 60-year-old man from Slatington by using a fictitious Ohio driver’s license with the name of the bank customer and the suspect’s photo on it before fleeing and leaving the license at the bank.

• Ryan Miller, 42, of Palmerton, was cited for harassment by physical contact after police were called to a domestic incident at 1:08 p.m. March 9 at 730 Mill Street, Bowmanstown.

Police said they were called there to conduct a welfare check and upon arrival learned the victim is a Palmerton resident.

They said it was also determined Miller is a convicted felon who was in possession of a firearm at the time of the incident.
