State police at Hazleton

State police at the Hazleton barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 36-year-old Weatherly man was cited for harassment by physical contact after police were called to a domestic incident at 2:45 p.m. April 8 on Buck Mountain Road in Lausanne Township.

Police said a 38-year-old Weatherly woman told them the man shoved her onto a couch in the residence.

• Police are investigating a burglary that occurred on Jeansville Road, Hazle Township.

John Makowiec, 70, told police that someone stole two containers of various coins worth an estimated $75 between 5 p.m. March 22 and 3 p.m. March 23.

• A 46-year-old Coaldale man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 11:35 p.m. March 28.

He was stopped in a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox for traffic violations on Route 209 in Nesquehoning, after which police said they observed signs of impairment.

• Police are investigating a credit card fraud complaint made by a Packer Township man.

George Bozar, 58, of Pole Road, Weatherly, reported the wire fraud incident at noon March 17, saying $1,303.55 was stolen from him in the transaction.

Police reported the following crash:

• Two people were hurt in a one-vehicle crash at 9:05 a.m. March 14 on the Tresckow Road in Banks Township.

Police said Tai L. Ray, 18, of Hazleton, the driver of the vehicle, and a 17-year-old girl from Beaver Meadows who was her passenger, were transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.

They said the severity of Ray’s injuries is unknown, while the 17-year-old had minor injuries.

Police said the crash occurred when a 2013 Dodge Dart driven northbound by Ray veered off the east side of the road on a curve.

The car overturned several times and came to rest in a culvert off the west side of the road.

It was towed from the scene.

Police said Ray was cited after the crash.
