South Ward egg hunt a hit with petting zoo, balloons, more

More than 300 children participated in the recent Easter Egg Hunt held at the South Ward Playground in Tamaqua.

The event was sponsored by the Tamaqua Salvation Army.

New Life Assembly of God Church of Tamaqua brought a petting zoo with goats, baby bunnies and chicks.

The South Ward Playground Association donated the use of its playground, and opened the concession stand.

Jael Houser, regional manager for the Salvation Army, said the association also provided plenty of volunteers.

Justin Startzel of Scripted in Style Events decorated the playground with balloons and Easter decor ranging from bunnies to carrots.
