The team from St. Jerome’s School, Tamaqua, won first place in the CYO Academic Bowl held Tuesday night at Marian Catholic High School, Hometown.

Comprising the winning team were eighth graders Jamie Mansell, Sidney Bashago, Angele DeLay and Brooke Milot and seventh graders Jaimie Hammer and Ann Marie Miller. They moderator was Mrs. Maryann Mansell.

The second place winner was the team from St. John Neumann School, Palmerton. Team members included eighth graders Sarah Ifkowitz, Schawn Schoch, Katrine Kresslee and Shawn Sweeney and seventh graders Christine Anderson and Tracy Musselman. Their moderator was Ruby Ifkowitz.

Pam Reilly, a district representative from St. Joseph’s School, Jim Thorpe, coordinated the event.
