Nesquehoning will be sweeping its streets in early May.

During the monthly meeting of borough council, Councilman Bruce Nalesnik announced that street sweeping will take place the week of May 5.

Signs will be posted on streets ahead of the sweeping.

On days of the street sweeping, vehicles should be moved from posted streets until sweeping is completed.

A more detailed schedule will be announced closer to the sweeping taking place.

In other street matters, Nalesnik said that council is preparing bids for various street projects in the borough.

He said that some additional paving should be able to be completed this year.

“It’s lining up to be a busy summer and fall in the town for paving,” Nalesnik said.
