Coaldale borough will look into selling a small parcel of land near Third and Lehigh streets.
“We found out recently that we own a little plot of land on Third Street,” President Claire Remington said at Tuesday’s council meeting.
The parcel, at 292 Third St., once had a house, but Remington said it was torn down “years ago.”
Schuylkill County property records note that the borough took ownership of the property in 2013.
“We thought we’d put it on the agenda tonight and ask council what they would feel about selling it,” Remington said.
She noted that the land is “not that big.”
“It might be 16 by 10 or something like that,” Remington said.
She encouraged council to think about whether they’d like to sell the land and hoped a decision would be made at May’s meeting.
“It serves no purpose to us,” she added.
