Northwestern graduate and current DeSales University junior Taylor Wikert was named the MAC Freedom men’s lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week earlier this season.

Wikert was the leader of a defense that allowed just six goals in his team’s only game of the week — a 12-6 victory over Widener — for the week ending March 30.

The former Tiger tallied seven caused turnovers in the win and had six ground balls. Wikert’s seven caused turnovers are the fourth most in a game at DeSales. He added one assist in the win.

Wikert has played in all 13 of his team’s games this season, starting nine of them. He has one goal and three assists. He is first on the team by a wide margin in caused turnovers with 28 (the next most is 12) and ranks second on the team in ground balls (52).
