Track & Field Roundup: Results from March 25
Northwestern and Palmerton both posted sweeps in Colonial League track and field action on Tuesday.
The Tigers defeated Catasauqua, while the Blue Bombers downed Salisbury.
Notre Dame GP-Jim Thorpe
In Colonial League action, Jim Thorpe was swept by Notre Dame of Green Pond.
The Olympians dropped an 80-66 decision in the boys meet, while the visiting Crusaders posted a 119-30 win in girls action.
Kolby Cavanaugh won multiple firsts for the Olympians, grabbing firsts in both the 110 hurdles and the triple jump.
Thorpe’s Vanessa Sadler captured the discus, and finished second in the shot put.

Northwestern registered a Colonial League sweep over Catasauqua.
The Tiger boys came out on top 85-65, while the Northwestern girls ran away with a 112-33 victory.
Rosalia Nestor and Greyson Wellings were multiple winners for the Tigers, as both crossed the finish line first in the same two events — the 800 and 1600.

Meanwhile, the Bomber boys came out victorious for their first league win against the Falcons.
Connor Hibell (800, 1600, 3200) and Jake Rutkowitz (110H, Long, triple jump) led the way for the Bombers with a hat-trick of first-place finishes
Nataly Walters and Ruby Walters weren’t too far behind with a trifecta of their own. as Nataly grabbed top honors in the 100-meter dash, the high jump and the triple jump, while Ruby posted top honors in the 100 and 300 hurdles and the pole vault.

The Cavaliers defeated the Bears 112-37 in the boys meet, while the Bears dropped a 119-29 setback to South.
PV’s Danielle Boland had three firsts, winning the 800, 1600 and 3200.
Martin Green was involved in a pair of wins for the Bears, taking the 3200 and running a leg in the winning 3200 relay.
