A meeting to update the public on the progress of the Schuylkill County property tax reassessment process will be held at 7 p.m. today at the Tamaqua Area Middle School cafeteria.

Tim Barr, of Vision Government Services, the firm doing the reassessment, said attendees will learn the next steps in the reassessment. There will be a presentation and a question-and-answer period.

He noted that in April and May, reassessers will be doing informal reviews to look at data, and commercial surveys will be going out.

Meetings will also be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the DHH Lengel Middle School auditorium in Pottsville, and Thursday at the Blue Mountain High School auditorium. Meetings were also held last week at the North Schuylkill School District near Frackville and Monday at the Pine Grove Area School District.
