Three Carbon County row officeholders are unopposed in their bids for re-election to four-year terms of office.

All Republicans, they were the only people within their party to file petitions to have their names placed on the primary election ballot this year. No Democrats for the offices.

The incumbents are Tyra L. Boni, 465 Taner’s Drive, Lehighton, clerk of courts; Jean A. Papay, 585 Maple Drive, Palmerton, register of wills; and Kevin Zelienka, 335 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, treasurer.

They were among 185 people — 116 Republicans and 69 Democrats - who filed petitions to get their names on the primary election ballots.

The primary election is May 20.
