Police have charged a student with bringing an unloaded firearm with him to school Thursday.

According to police, an 11th Avenue resident reported the disappearance of a pistol at 2 p.m. and officers determined the weapon may be in the possession of Brandon Neblett, 18, a resident of that address.

Liberty High School resource officers were immediately informed, and they located Neblett and recovered the 9 mm Ruger.

Police and school officials are investigating. No one was harmed and no threats were made.

Neblett is charged with carrying a firearm on school property.
