State police at Lehighton

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:

• Three people were cited for harassment by physical contact after police responded to an inactive domestic incident at 6 p.m. March 7 on Weir Mountain Road, Polk Township.

Charged were a 43-year-old man and two girls, ages 16 and 17, all from Gilbert.

• A 34-year-old Palmerton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 2:10 a.m. March 8.

He was stopped in a 2014 Subaru Crosstrek for multiple Title 75 offenses in the 400 block of Columbia Avenue in Palmerton.

• A 27-year-old man from Kunkletown was charged with assault with a weapon following a domestic incident with his grandfather at 7:37 p.m. March 4.

Police were called to a property on Pine Tree Lane, Polk Township, and learned the man’s grandfather, a 70-year-old from Kunkletown, was injured in the incident.

• Police were called to a reported burglary at 3:08 p.m. Feb. 10 at a property on James Lane, Towamensing Township, resulting in the arrest of a 41-year-old Lehighton man.

A 47-year-old man, also from Lehighton, said the suspect entered his residence and removed a washer and dryer without permission.

A 2003 GMC Sierra was involved in the incident, police said.

• A 27-year-old Lansford woman and a 58-year-old Jim Thorpe man were cited for harassment by physical contact after police responded to an altercation between the two at 10:41 a.m. March 5.

Police said it took place on Quail Drive, Penn Forest Township.

• A 22-year-old Blakeslee man is facing drug possession charges after police made a traffic stop at 5:28 p.m. March 8.

He was stopped in a 2010 Honda Civic at the intersection of Route 115 and Tower Road in Tunkhannock Township, after which police smelled marijuana emanating from the vehicle and saw a small amount of marijuana in plain view.

• Police reported they were called to an active domestic incident resulting on one person being arrested. They did not provide any other information on the incident.

• A 65-year-old Lehighton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police were called to an incident at 8:18 p.m. Feb. 1 at 7435 Interchange Road, Towamensing Township.

Police said he was operating a 1985 GMC vehicle erratically at the above location.
