Fire companies from East Penn and Mahoning township fire companies responded to a brush fire Saturday morning in East Penn township. The fire was reported around 11 a.m. at a residence near the intersection of Municipal road and Thomas Jefferson Drive. It appeared high winds carried flames from a burning pit onto the lawn.
