Senior Center

The Panther Valley Senior Center announced the menu for March 3-7.

Monday: Breaded Pork, Root Vegetables, Brussels Sprouts, Applesauce or Turkey and Cheese Sandwich.

Tuesday: Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes, Mixed Vegetables, Cookie or Salad with Chicken.

Wednesday: Pierogies, Salad, Orange, Pudding or Greek Salad with Chicken.

Thursday: Chicken Kiev, Quinoa, Zucchini, Pears or Chicken BLT Sandwich.

Friday: Onion Soup, Veggie Burger, Sweet Potato Fries, Cantaloupe or Egg Salad.

The senior center also announced the following events.

Pancake Breakfast on Feb. 28 at 10 a.m.

Skeeball on March 3 at 11 a.m.; Bingo on March 4 at 10:45 a.m.; Drumming Exercise on March 5 at 11 a.m.; Po-Keeno on March 6 at 11 a.m.; Cornhole and Ladderball on March 7 at 10:30 a.m.

Sunshine Meeting on March 10 at 10 a.m. followed by Scattergories at 11 a.m.; Birthday Bingo on March 11 at 10:45 a.m.; Trivia on March 12 at 11 a.m.; Game Day on March 13 at 10:30 a.m.; Po-Keeno on March 14 at 11 a.m.

Cards, Pool, Games available daily from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. New members are welcome.

Panther Valley Golden Agers

The Panther Valley Golden Agers met on Feb. 24 with 11 members present.

President Diane Gould opened the meeting. The group chanced off three Valentine gifts.

On March 10, a tricky tray auction will be held with $10 gifts.

The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. March 10, weather permitting, at the St. Ann’s Senior Apartments in Lansford.

Panther Valley Library

The Panther Valley Public Library will host a preschool story hour every Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. starting on March 12. The event is great for ages 3-5 years old. Participants will enjoy stories, crafts and a light snack.

Library hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9-11:45 a.m., and Thursday evening from 5-6:45 p.m. The library is located at 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford.

Nesquehoning

Historical Society

The Nesquehoning Historical Society will be open from 9 a.m.-noon on March 1 for the public to view its collection from Nesquehoning’s history. The building is located at 157 W. Railroad St.
