Four area boys players were recently selected the Schuylkill League All-Area Coaches all-star teams.

Three of the four made the Second Team, while the other one was selected to the Third Team.

Tamaqua was represented by a pair of teammates on the second team. Both Noah Mateyak and Cooper Ansbach received all-star honors. Mateyak, a senior, averaged 16.86 points per game and connected on 68 three-pointers. Ansbach, also a senior, finished with a scoring average of 14.45.

Weatherly’s Ian McKeegan, a junior, joins the two Blue Raiders on the second squad. The Wrecker scoring leader has dropped in 18.2 ppg, hit 27 three-pointers, and owns a .761 free throw percentage.

Making the Third Team was Panther Valley’s Logan Fisher. A senior, Fisher tallied a team-leading 12.96 points per game.

Second Team

Noah Mateyak, Tamaqua (senior), Letrel Montone, Pottsville (senior), Cooper Ansbach, Tamaqua (senior), Ian McKeegan, Weatherly (junior), Trey Porter, Tri-Valley (sophomore).

Third Team

Aidan Grace, Blue Mountain (senior), Ala Evans, Schuylkill Haven (sophomore), Hayden Felty, Pine Grove (junior), Logan Fisher, Panther Valley (senior), Derek Watkins, Pottsville (senior).
