McAdoo Police have charged Patrick Ryan, 24, of Tamaqua, in connection with the theft of diamond plate metal from Haulmark Trailers.
Ryan had been employed by the company but left.
Haulmark was notified that Ryan was attempting to sell 30 pieces of diamond plate through Facebook for $25 each. He had been given permission to take one piece of the metal, but not the amount he was trying to sell.
Police set up a buy on Dec. 5 in a business parking lot on South Kennedy Drive in the borough, paying Ryan $480 for all of the pieces. He then helped transfer the items into an unmarked vehicle.
After the transaction was completed, Ryan was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.
