Tamaqua Area School Board conducted the following business this week:
• Approved the Class of 2025 prom for May 3 at the Lakeside Ballroom in Barnesville.
• Approved an affiliation agreement with Kutztown University for a dual enrollment program.
• Approved the administration to apply for up to five flexible instruction days for the 2025-26 school year.
• Approved the second reading of policies on the purchases subject to bid/quotations, and purchases budgeted.
• Approved payment of bills of $348,914.92 for February and interim bills of $380,674.43; the tax report and tax exemptions; tax refunds and delinquent real estate list.
• Rescinded a motion of Jan. 21, approving Amanda Swartz of Tamaqua as a part-time paraprofessional.
• Approved Katie Rude of New Ringgold, and Megan Yurich of Summit Hill as part-time paraprofessionals at a rate of $12 an hour.
• Approved family medical leave for Susan Zehner from Feb. 28 for about four to six weeks, and Megan Wertz from March 14 to May 29.
• Approved Christian Gardiner of Summit Hill as a full-time custodian at a rate of $11 per hour, and Lucas Borchick of Tamaqua, as a substitute custodian at a rate of $12.41 an hour.
• Approved Pamela Miller of Schuylkill Haven; Dave Schmaldienst of Cressona, and Shyann Weighknecht of New Ringgold as substitute teachers.
