The Hazleton City Police Department will again be hosting a prom dress drive to help make prom dreams come true for area high school students.

The department opened its dress drive on Monday, and it will continue collecting dresses through March 1.

The drive is seeking newer dresses, possibly from the last two or three years, that every girl would love to have, the release states.

The drive is open to everyone, and not only those students in Hazleton Area School District, Officer Jessica Surkin said.

Students from any school district will be welcome to choose a dress, she said, and last year, the drive helped someone as far away as Lake Lehman in northern Luzerne and Wyoming counties.
