Marian ended its regular season with a convincing win over Lehigh Christian.

Marian exploded for 39 points in the second quarter and cruised to a 93-52 non-league victory over Lehigh Christian Academy on Friday.

Dominic Catrone scored 11 of his team-high 23 points in the second frame for the Colts, who finished their regular season with a .500 record.

Jacob De La Cruz tallied eight of his 15 points in the second as Marian built a 32-point halftime lead. The winners also received 15 from Rocco Griguoli and 12 from Gregory Tirpak.

For the Mustangs, Jacob Lewis poured in a game-high 39 points.

Weatherly-MMI Prep

Weatherly led after three quarters, but MMI Prep rallied in the fourth to earn a 28-23 non-league win on Saturday.

Kelly Reiner poured in 21 points for the Wreckers, who had a four-point advantage at the half and were up by two entering the final frame.

The Preppers received 10 points from Anna Drobnock, including six in the pivotal fourth period.

BOYS WRESTLING

Salisbury Duals

Northern Lehigh and Panther Valley both participated in the Salisbury Duals on Saturday.

The Bulldogs went 2-2 in their matches, while the Panthers were 0-6.

Nolehi’s wins were 36-33 over Twin Valley, and 39-32 over the host Falcons.

Mason Rothrock collected three wins, all pins, for the Bulldogs, while Noah Gosart, Jayden Weaver and Cyrus Kinchen each added a pair of falls for NL.

Also, Rory Dixon and Jah Bushati — Marian students wrestling for Mahanoy Area — had successful days. Dixon went 6-0 for the Bears, and Bushati ended 4-1.
