Tamaqua police issued a warrant for the arrest of a borough man who is already wanted on a parole violation.

According to police, officers spotted Czar Founds, 27, around 11:38 a.m. Jan. 31 on the 200 block of Cedar Street. Knowing that he was wanted, police yelled to him from their police cruiser but said Founds kept walking.

Officers then exited their vehicle, approached Founds and told him that he needed to come to the police station. Police said he struggled with officers, then ran away, got on a bicycle and traveled onto an alley near Cedar Street.

Police lost sight of Founds but witnesses reported seeing him.

He is facing a charge of evading arrest on foot, police said.
