First Saturday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. 3rd St., Lehighton at 4 p.m. Sunday worship with Holy Communion at 9:30 a.m. Licensed Lay Minister Kathy Long presides at both worship times. Coffeehouse fellowship begins at 10:30 a.m. in Luther Hall.

Sunday Church School and confirmation preparatory classes will be held at 10:45 a.m.

Save the dates:

• All are invited to attend the 9:30 a.m. Feb. 9 worship in celebration of the installation of Kathy Long, licensed lay minister, with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Christopher deForest, Bishop of Northeastern PA Synod ELCA, will preside. The service will be livestreamed. A brunch will follow in Luther Hall. No RSVP is needed.

• Monetary donations called “Souper Bowl” will be received on Super Bowl Sunday after the worship service. Soup pots will be labeled Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs and I don’t care who wins. Monetary donations should be placed in the pot that you are voting for. All donations benefit the Trinity pantry.

Church initiatives:

The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and 5:30 to 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday) with outdoor drive-up. Residents who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive supplemental food. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. The Trinity Thrift Store regular hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays. Household goods and clothing donations will be accepted during store hours on Wednesdays, five bag limit. Use door 2 to bring clothing inside.

Ben Salem UCC

Ben Salem UCC, 1965 Church Hill Road, Lehighton will hold Sunday Worship at 8 a.m. with a Praise Band at 10:15 a.m. for a traditional service. Livestreamed on the church website. Communion service will be the first Sunday of each month.

• Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., Senior Choir Practice

• Thursday at 6:45 p.m., Handbell Choir Practice; and Men’s Bible study, 7 to 9 p.m.

• Homemade shoofly pie sale orders are due on Feb. 2; pickups from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Feb. 8 in Fellowship Hall.

• Homemade sticky bun sale orders due Feb. 23; pickups from 1:30 to 2 p.m. on March 1 in Fellowship Hall.

Christ Evangelical

Christ Evangelical Free Church, 2420 Blakeslee Blvd., Dr. West in Lehighton holds weekly worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Ministries:

Sunday School for children and youth at 11 a.m. Sunday, except the first Sunday of the month.
