Driver cited after Schuylkill crash

No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 8:36 a.m. Jan. 21 at the intersection of routes 895 and 61 in West Brunswick Township.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said it happened when Angel L. Ramos-Gomez, 53, of Reading, driving a 2007 Hummer, made a right turn from Route 61 northbound onto Route 895.

Police said the Hummer slid on ice and struck a 2011 GMC Sierra driven by Jeffrey T. Messimer, 54, of Millerstown, who was stopped at a traffic light waiting to turn onto Rt. 61 southbound.

Police said the Hummer had functional damages and was able to be driven from the scene while the Sierra had to be towed from it.

They said Ramos-Gomez was cited for driving while his license is suspended or revoked.
