Area Catholic schools enter video contest

In honor of Catholic Schools Week, two area schools are looking for help to “Make a Joyful Noise.”

The Diocese of Allentown is currently hosting the Make A Joyful Noise video contest to raise money for various Catholic schools while also supporting and enriching the lives of students.

The competition includes videos created by the schools that people can vote on through donations.

Locally, Marian Catholic High School in Hometown and St. John Neumann Regional School in Palmerton are taking part in the competition.

Marian’s entry talks about how the students learn about the “pillars of faith, family and tradition.”

“Get ready to sing with our seniors, jump for joy with our juniors, smile with our sophomores, have fun with our freshman, and finally, get crazy with our Colt,” the school’s entry states.

St. John Neumann’s entry showcases the “fun, energy and creativity” that is bursting from the halls of the school.

Voting for the schools, of which there are 26 participating, is open now until Feb. 23. All donations raised for each school benefit that school. There are no limits to the number of times people can vote.

“Go ahead, dance, sing, clap, donate and make a joyful noise,” the diocese’s contest website states.
