An apparent lack of interest, both on the part of youths and parents, has caused the closing of the game and activity rooms of the Summit Hill Community Improvement Organization’s Ludlow Street facility.

Edith Szczecina, president, said the “Game Room” afforded area youths a chance to “get out of the cold” and featured video games and snacks, but due to limited staff, youths’ participation and a lack of parent involvement, the organization decided to close it. As little as 4-5 persons kept it opened for the past year.

SHCIO has been renting the building from Jennie DeMilio and will continue its weekly bingo games there, Mrs. Szczecina said.
