January 29, 1996 — After losing by 22 points during their first matchup, the Jim Thorpe girls gain revenge against Weatherly by riding a big effort from Jocelyn Kattner en route to a 67-52 victory. Kattner nets eight of her team-high 29 points in the first quarter as the Olympians, coached by Paul Thamarus, open up a nine-point lead. Kattner adds nine points in the final frame to help seal the win. Thorpe also receives 14 points from Karen Karper and 10 from Heather Karper, while Casey Hydro chips in with eight. The Wreckers’ Amy Sandt pours in a game-high 32 points.
