State police at Fern Ridge - crashes

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following crashes:

• Arielle M. Schmitt, 33, of Lansford, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 9:37 a.m. Jan. 20 on Route 903 in Penn Forest Township. She was uninjured in the incident

Police said she was driving a 2015 Mazda northbound when she lost control of it due to slush on the highway. The car left the roadway and traveled down and struck an embankment, continuing for about 100 feet before coming to rest.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

• Victoria J. Turner, 59, of Effort, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 4:28 p.m. Jan. 19 on Long Woods Drive, Chestnuthill Township.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the West End Ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg.

Turner was driving a 2020 Mazda when she failed to negotiate a right curve in the road, police said. The car traveled off the highway and hit a tree. It had to be towed from the scene.

• Justin H. Fazzari-Berg, 25, of Stroudsburg, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 9:13 a.m. Jan. 17 on Route 715 in Chestnuthill Township. He was uninjured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2018 GMC Genesis that hit a utility pole.

• No one was injured in a crash involving a bus carrying nine passengers from the Pleasant Valley School District that occurred at 3:19 p.m. Jan. 16 on Vista Drive in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said the crash occurred when a 2024 Mercedes-Benz driven by Gloria J. Tivenan, 53, of Blakeslee, attempted to make a turn out of a driveway on Vista Drive and struck the bus, which was being operated by Maria L. Miller, 54, of Summit Hill.

Police said the Mercedes had functional damage and was driven back into the driveway. The 2017 Thomas Built bus had minor scratching and denting and was driven from the scene.

Tivenan was cited after the crash, police said.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 4:43 p.m. Jan. 16 on Frantz Road in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said the crash occurred when Antonio Albero II, 41, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2005 Subaru Legacy that struck the rear of a 2014 Nissan Murano operated by Kimberly A. Ahmed, 54, of Saylorsburg, after the latter had slowed down due to snow-covered roads. Police said the Subaru then hit a tree on the left shoulder of the road.

The Subaru had to be towed from the scene, while the Nissan was able to be driven from it.

• Injuries were averted in a two-vehicle crash at 2:41 p.m. Jan. 16 on Route 715 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said the crash occurred as a 17-year-old boy from Effort was driving a 2000 Toyota Camry south on the snow-covered road when he lost control of it. The car crossed into the northbound lane and struck a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado driven by John J. Fox III, 47, of Brodheadsville.

Police said both vehicles were towed from the scene.

• Emma E. Wesolowski, 22, of Randolph, New Jersey, and her passenger, Eric Wesolowski, had suspected minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 7:51 p.m. Dec. 21 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township.

Police said the two were transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley EMS corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

The crash occurred when Emma Wesolowski was driving a 2016 Honda Civic eastbound when she lost control of it, police said. The car traveled in and out of the left lane before going onto the left shoulder, where it struck an embankment. Police said the force of the impact caused the car to flip over. It came to rest on its roof and then was towed from the scene.

They said Emma Wesolowski was after the crash.

• Eric M. Eyster, 31, of Drums, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 9:35 a.m. Jan. 11 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township.

Police said he was driving a 2015 Honda Civic eastbound when he lost control of it due to slippery road conditions. The car hit a guide rail and sustained disabling damage.

• Anthony Martinez Diaz, 26, of Ashland, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 8:21 a.m. Jan. 11 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township.

Police said he was driving a 2014 Mercedes-Benz westbound when he lost control of it due to inclement weather. The car struck ice/slush in the road, went off the right side of the road and hit a guide rail.
