NCC transfer agreements announced
This month, Northampton Community College announced three partnerships for students pursuing an education at NCC who wish to continue at a four-year university.
The agreements include Penn State University, Villanova University and Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania.
The PSU agreement allows NCC students to transfer to a parallel baccalaureate degree program at one of the PSU University College Commonwealth campuses, which does not include University Park.
Students will be guaranteed admission if they have earned a GPA of 2.0 or higher and are in good standing with NCC. NCC students may receive a RaiseMe Transfer Scholarship, which will provide grants up to a maximum of $7,000 if they meet eligibility requirements.
The agreement covers 14 specific majors at PSU campuses: biology; biobehavioral health; business; corporate communication; criminal justice; English; health and human development; health policy administration; multidisciplinary studies; nursing (R.N. to B.S.); psychology; rehabilitation and human services; science; and project and supply chain management.
The Villanova agreement is specific to majors available through Villanova’s College of Professional Studies.
Students can take advantage of merit tuition reductions with up to a 25% tuition reduction rate, depending on the student’s GPA.
Commonwealth University was created in 2022 as a merger between Lock Haven, Bloomsburg and Mansfield universities.
Students who apply for transfer admission to Commonwealth University will be granted at least full junior standing in Commonwealth’s parallel major, with an offer for a renewable transfer scholarship based on the students’ academic performance while enrolled at NCC and at Commonwealth University.
Students will receive up to $4,500 annually if living in residence halls and $3,000 if living off campus.
Northampton Community College has locations in Bethlehem, Southside Bethlehem and Monroe County, serving 30,000 students annually from 53 counties, 42 countries, and 25 states.
