Franklin Township Supervisors took the following action on Tuesday:
• On a 2-0 vote, with one abstention, reappointed Brenda Cressley as secretary/treasurer (at no additional money over the secretarial union position salary). Supervisor Robin Cressley abstained.
• On a 2-0 vote, with one abstention, reappointed Brenda Cressley as the open records officer for the township administration office. Supervisor Robin Cressley abstained.
• On a 2-0 vote, with one abstention, reappointed Brenda Cressley as the township representative to the Carbon County Tax Committee for a one-year term. Supervisor Robin Cressley abstained.
• On a 2-0 vote, with one abstention, appointed Fred Kemmerer Jr. as the township representative to the Central Carbon Municipal Authority for a five-year term. Supervisor Fred Kemmerer Jr. abstained.
• Tabled setting a hearing date for the proposed cable franchise agreement between the township and Blue Ridge Cable Technologies Inc.
• Agreed to advertise bids for 10,000 gallons of low sulfur diesel fuel and unleaded gasoline.
• Christmas trees can be disposed of at the Phifer’s Ice Dam Park (Penn Street entrance) for township residents only until Jan. 31.
• Garbage collection changed from Feb. 17 (Presidents Day) to Feb. 18.
• The next township meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 18.
