Monroe County Commissioners

The Monroe County commissioners approved the following items at their meeting on Wednesday:

• Payment to Super Heat Inc. of $3,822.72 for emergency repairs to boiler at the Monroe County Correctional Facility.

• IRS mileage reimbursement rate for county travel to 70 cents per mile.

• Fiscal/Grants: Authorize Jennifer Barclay, finance director, to electronically sign the agreement on behalf of the commissioner chairman; and execute the Continuum of Care Grant Rapid Rehousing FY2023 sub-recipient contracts to Family Promise of the Poconos Inc. Services for rental assistance for $235,768, and Pocono Mountains United Way for supportive services, $30,000.

• Ratify the Capital Purchases Report dated Jan. 9 totaling $1,935.26 for a workstation for a new employee in the District Attorney’s Office; and approve the Capital Purchases Report dated Jan. 15 totaling $1,334.35 for maintenance for a key duplicator.

Contracts

The commissioners ratified the following items:

• Change order with Lobar Construction Inc. totaling $2,612.44 for Hearing Room #2085 doors, and;

• Authorization for Kwanza Smith, grants manager, to electronically sign the FY24 Intermediate Punishment Treatment Program contract totaling $89,999 for July 1, 2024 to Dec. 31 to hire a full-time case management at the Single County Authority to complete drug and alcohol evaluations at the intake of DUI offenders, and to electronically sign the Continuing County Adult Probation/Parole Grant 2024-25 award totaling $110,386 from July 1, 2024 to June 30; the 2025 Mosquito Borne Disease Control Grant of $135,948.

• Monroe County Correctional Facility: Second Addendum with Primecare Medical Inc. to expand medication-assisted treatment services at the facility if the MAT program exceeds 40 participants for two consecutive months to provide four additional licensed practical nurse hours per day and four additional provider hours per month at the prevailing rate from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31.

• Contract Service Provider Agreements with Janet Catina Esq., Protection From Abuse defense advocate; Deborah L. Huffman, Esq., Protection From Abuse plaintiff advocate.

Appointments

• Housing Authority of Monroe County: Reappoint Taylor Munoz to the board of directors with a new term to expire Dec. 31, 2029.

• Area Agency on Aging: Reappoint Norma Krasne-Levine, Kandia Palmer and Justin Ortiz to the AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP Advisory Council with a new term to expire Dec. 31, 2027; and acknowledge the completion of term from the Advisory Council: Carrie Wetherbee, Emily Daly and Charles Cahn.
