Palmerton borough council took the following action last week:

• Appointed Jason Behler as chief, and Shawn Rios assistant chief of the Palmerton Fire Palmerton.

• At the recommendation of Entech Engineering, approved the payment for sanitary sewer lining project in the amount of $134,178 to Mr. Rehab LLC.

• Accepted the retirement resignation of Tom Smith, waste water operator.

• Agreed to advertise for two Department of Public Works employment positions.

• Appointed Elliot, Greenleaf and Dean as the labor attorney at a rate of $225 per hour.

• Approved the first reading of the handicapped parking ordinance.
