Police ID victim in fatal Monroe gunfight
A Venezuela man died during a gunfight at a home in Monroe County on Sunday afternoon.
Pocono Mountain Regional Police said Lionardo Hernandez Zarata, 22, died after suffering gunshot wounds at the home at 1329 Clover Road, Long Pond.
Police said the investigation into the incident that left two other men in stable condition after suffering nonfatal gunshot wounds is continuing.
Police previously identified the two men as Johangel Farfan, 23, and Isaat Ozuna, 25, both of Venezuela.
After serving search warrants on the residence, police uncovered evidence of various calibers and weapons being involved in the gunfight within the home.
Police were able to recover projectiles and casings. Police also located quantities of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia consistent with open drug sales within the home.
Based on that portion of the investigation, police have charged Farfan along with Heymar Padilla-Moyetones, 24, Yanny Suarez-Rodriguez, 21, and Fraimar Vita-Grimar, 21, all of Venezuela.
Fraimar Vita-Grimar was also a part of the investigation into a shooting incident in Coolbaugh Township on May 22, involving similar circumstances.
Padilla-Moyetones was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (felony) and related charges. She was committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility without bail.
Vita-Grimar was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (felony) and related charges. She was committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility without bail.
Suarez-Rodriguez was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (felony) and related charges. She was committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility without bail.
Farfan was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and related charges. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
