The Lehighton Area Heritage Alliance’s next monthly meeting will be on Monday, Jan. 20, at 6 p.m. at the Rec Center.
Trinity Happenings
Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, begins at 9:30 a.m. Licensed Lay Minister Kathy Long presides at both worship times. Coffeehouse fellowship begins at 10:30 a.m. in Luther Hall.

The annual congregational meeting takes place following the worship service in Luther Hall. Snow date is Feb. 2. Yearly reports of committees as well as reports of officers and organizations will be covered.
Sunday Church School and confirmation preparatory classes for students in 7-8 grades resume next week.
The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive supplemental food. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pickup. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.
The Trinity Thrift Store regular store hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesdays; and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays. Household goods and clothing donations will be accepted during store hours on Wednesdays. There is a five bag limit. Use door 2 to bring clothing inside.
A free movie night will be held at 7 p.m. on Jan. 18 in Luther Hall. The movie is “Despicable Me 4.” Enter through the Iron Street entrance. No RSVP needed. Popcorn, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase to help benefit projects of Trinity’s youth group.
BECC
Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, 222 North St., Lehighton, will host Sunday Morning Worship with Holy Communion at 10:45 a.m.

• Thursday: Men’s Bible Study, 5 a.m.; Second Blessing Clothing Ministry, 6-8 p.m. Free clothing.
• Jan. 23: Women’s group at 11 a.m. in overflow room. All women invited.
• Feb. 2: Hymn sing at 3:30 p.m. for all EC churches at Bethany EC.
• Feb. 16: Congregational meeting immediately following morning service.

St. John’s
St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mahoning, 826 Mahoning Dr. W., Lehighton, will hold worship service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. Sunday school takes place at 9:30 a.m.
Grief support meets at 6 p.m. on Jan. 20.
Book Club is held at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 28. The book “The Book of Lost Names” by Kristin Harmel will be discussed.

The church is collecting items for its 2025 rummage sale, which will be held March 28 and 29. Donations can be dropped off in the back half of the nursery room. Clothing, electronics, medical supplies/equipment, car seats and small appliances that do not have complete parts are not accepted. For questions, call Cheryl Kistler at 510-533-5723.
Dinkey Memorial Church in Ashfield has a food cupboard available to those in need who are members of Dinkey Memorial and St. John’s or residents of East Penn Township. The distribution is the third Thursday of every month from 3:30-5 p.m. in Dinkey’s Social Room. For more information, speak with Pastor Tony.
