Mail delivery delayed for sewer authority bills

The Coaldale-Lansford-Summit Hill Joint Sewer Authority has issued an alert to its customers regarding a mail delivery problem that happened in the last week of December and still has not been resolved. The fourth quarter sewer bills for customers in Lansford and Coaldale are not being delivered.

In a press release, the authority said:

“On Dec. 27, 2024, the fourth quarter sewer bills were delivered to the U.S. Post Office in Lehighton, PA, as the standard procedures of the sewer authority office.

“It was brought to the authority’s attention in early January that residents of Lansford and Coaldale boroughs did not receive their fourth quarter bills in the mail. The authority office employees have been in contact with the U.S. Postal Service (Lehigh Valley, Lehighton and Lansford offices) in an attempt to identify the problem with the mail deliveries. As of this date, the problem has not been corrected by the USPS. Office employees are continuing to work with the USPS.

“The tentative due date for the fourth quarter billing is Jan. 20, 2025. Authority customers are urged to contact the authority office, by phone or in person, to determine their fourth quarter bill amount. A due date extension will be made and determined after the problem is identified and resolved by the USPS.”
