Lower Towamensing Township supervisors took the following action on Monday:

• Approved the township solicitor to create a resolution for adoption at next month’s meeting concerning the newly-elected tax collector’s salary in the amount of $6,600, with monthly paychecks in the amount of $550. The tax collector will be elected this year, but will not take office until Jan. 1, 2026.

• On a 2-0 vote, with one abstention, approved the Portnoff writ of execution for properties at 4950 Little Gap Road and 40 Mill Road for garbage. Supervisor Mike Takerer abstained.

• Tabled the Portnoff agreement and ordinance.

• Discussed, but didn’t take any action on, the volunteer tax credit for all fire companies within the Palmerton Area School District.

• Appointed Supervisor Jay Mullikin and planning commission member Angela Farrell to the Palmerton Area Comprehensive Plan.
