Calvary Lewistown

The 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Calvary Evangelical Church in Lewistown will feature a message of faithfulness and power of Jesus in the lives of believers of Christ. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:15 a.m. There is no Sunday evening service. All are invited.

The evening prayer group will resume at 7 p.m. Wednesdays.

St. Peter’s West Penn

The 9 a.m. Sunday worship service at St. Peter’s in West Penn will include a Joyous Noise offering. It will be followed by Sunday school at 10:15 a.m. and Girl Scouts at 6 p.m.

Tuesday is the February newsletter deadline, and the Prayer Group will meet at 6 p.m. On Jan. 16, the Cherub Choir meets at 6 p.m. and the Senior Choir meets at 7 p.m.

Lewistown Garden Club

The Lewistown Valley Garden Club held its Christmas social on Dec. 17 at which time the new officers for 2025 were installed and include Cindy Sabol, president; Sharon Herring, vice president; Evelyn Adams, treasurer; Louise Flexer, secretary; Georgene Gallagher, assistant secretary; Linda Leiby, chaplain; Kathy McGee, sergeant at arms, and Mary Bridygham, historian. “Day of Rest” arrangements with a religious accessory were judged. Winners were Pat Wishouski, first place; Evelyn Adams, second place, and Sharon Herring, third place. Specimens of winter greens were judged with Noreen Rosso in first place and Sue Hower in third place.

The annual planning meeting for 2025 will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 14 at Zion Church social hall in Lewistown Valley. The snow date is Jan. 21. Members are asked to bring their thoughts and ideas for meeting and arrangement themes for each month for the new year as well as finger food to share.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.

The class for new members will meet at noon in Memorial Hall after the church service. The preschool board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Hall.
