Penn Mahoning Ambulance drive begins

The Penn Mahoning Ambulance Association’s subscription drive is underway.

Representatives from the association told West Penn Township supervisors that forms were mailed before Christmas but anyone who hasn’t gotten one can visit the station at 1748 West Penn Pike (Route 309) or call at 570-386-2233. They’ll also soon be available from the West Penn Township Municipal building.

The association submits a monthly activities report to supervisors, and included a year-end report for the supervisors’ recent meeting.

In 2024, the association was dispatched 476 times, including to: East Brunswick Township, 17; New Ringgold, 10; Rush Township, 2; Schuylkill Township, 1; Tamaqua, 57; Walker Township, 7; West Penn Township, 382.

The calls increased over 2023, when it responded to 410 calls.

“It was a busy year,” supervisors Chairman Tony Prudenti said. “Thank you guys for what you do.”

The association recently put a new 2024 Ford ambulance into service. It replaces a 2010 model.

“We could not have done it without everyone’s help. Thank you,” association President Valerie Coombe said.

It also welcomed four emergency medical technicians and two drivers in 2024.
