L. Towamensing keeps same leaders

Lower Towamensing Township supervisors will run under the same leadership in 2025.

Connie Brown was reelected board chairwoman, while Michael Takerer was reelected vice chairman.

Supervisor Jay Mullikin is the third supervisor on the board.

Appointments

• Jim Nanovic, township solicitor.

• Duane Dellecker, zoning officer/building code officer.

• Hanover Engineering, township engineer, with Keystone Consulting Engineering, as conflict engineer.

• Arro Consulting Engineering, sanitary/sewer engineer.

• Scott Brown, Hanover Engineering, sewage/well enforcement officer, with Luke Eggert, Nadia Einfalt, Pamela Kemecsy, Paul Gallagher Saba, Jacob Schray and Christopher Taylor from Hanover Engineering, as alternate sewage enforcement officers.

• Barry Isett & Associates/Lehigh Valley Inspection, agency for UCC reviews and inspections.

• Rory Koons, emergency management coordinator.

• RoniSue Ahner, Carbon County Tax Collection Committee delegate, with Connie Brown as alternate.

• Gerald Madden, vacancy board chairman.

• Holly Heintzelman, zoning hearing board solicitor.

• James Ord, Keith George, Ralph Cortazzo and Georgia Mock (alternate), zoning hearing board members. Reappointed George to another three-year term, and Mock as an alternate to another one-year term.

• Angela Farrell, Jay Mullikin, Steve Meining and Steve Kuhns, planning commission. Reappointed Farrell to another four-year term on the planning commission. Accepted Gerald Madden’s resignation from the commission. Appointed Kim Borger as the new member of the commission to serve out Madden’s remainder of term.

• Kirk, Summa & Company LLP, township auditor — CPA firm.

• Mike Takerer, state convention voting delegate.

• Established the township’s treasurer’s bond at $1,500,000.

• Designated Mauch Chunk Trust and Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust as the township’s depositories for 2025.

• Designated any of the supervisors, along with secretary RoniSue Ahner, to approve and sign checks on behalf of the township.

• The 2025 mileage reimbursement rate will follow the IRS rate.

• Meetings will be at 7 p.m. the first Tuesday of the month except for November, when it will meet at 7 p.m. the first Wednesday.
