The Carbon County Board of Commissioners hired John J. Sipko of Summit Hill to serve as the director of fiscal and business services at Weatherwood, the county’s home for the aged in Weatherly.

Sipko, who has 19 years of experience in helping hospitals with insurance concerns, last worked for Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, as a patients accounts manager. Previously, he was the business office manager for the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton, and coordinator of outpatient billing for the Allentown Hospital.

A graduate of Penn State University, he lives in Summit Hill, where he is a borough councilman, with his wife, Trudy, and two sons, Jack and Joey.
