The Tamaqua girls extended their winning streak on Monday, while the boys ended their skid.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Dieruff-Tamaqua

Tamaqua pushed its winning streak to seven games, as the Blue Raiders knocked off Dieruff 41-31 in non-league action.

Lauren Ligenza registered a double-double for the winners, as she finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Tamaqua, which jumped out to a 10-2 start, also received seven points from Leah Black and eight rebounds from Kendle Miller.

Jayla Rosario paced the Huskies with 10 points.

Tamaqua ended a four-game losing streak, as the Blue Raiders pulled away from host Schuylkill Haven for a 76-67 win.

Cooper Ansbach scored a season-high 23 points for the winners, who led by 15 after three quarters.

Tamaqua’s Noah Mateyak added 19 points, while Luke Kane contributed 14.

The Hurricanes received a team-high 22 points from both Alan Evans and Brady Kelly.

Northwestern-Bangor

Northwestern remained unbeaten in Colonial League play, as the Tigers rolled to a 69-43 victory over Bangor.

Eli Zimmerman scored 13 of his game-high 23 points in the third quarter to help his team pull away from the Slaters.

Gavin Nelson added 11 points in the third frame and finished with 18. Cannon Fitch also ended the contest in double figures with 11.

For Bangor, Exavior Prado tallied a team-high 11 points.
